Most manufacturerers believe that the future of vehicle technology is with the Hybrid vehicle. Hybrid is a totally new concept that the motor trade needs to understand and quickly adopt, understand the functionalilty and how to work safely with high voltage.

- Dangers of electrical current, first aid and responsibilities
- Safety of high voltage vehicles
- Hybrid overview of different styles including, Full hybrid, Micro hybrid & plug in hybrid.
- Series versus parallel systems
- Advantages of Hybrid systems over conventional fuels
- Understanding the components, batteries, inverters, electric motors and generators
- The importance of safety, working with high voltage, high voltage disconnection procedure, safe isolation and special tooling requirements.
- Review of additional systems on hybrid vehicles such as electric air conditioning, braking systems, power steering and cooling requirements.
- Practical exercises conducted on a vehicle
- The use of information systems and special tooling.
